Kontrabassisten Jon Henriksson er blevet en klar stemme i nordisk jazz i løbet af det seneste årti. Med sin nye kvintet, Shapeshifter Quintet, fortsætter han med at udforske musik, hvor rollerne skifter, udtrykkene tager tid, og hver musiker bidrager til helheden.
Musikken bevæger sig mellem det åbenlyst melodiske og det mere søgende, med inspiration fra blandt andet Pat Metheny, Milton Nascimento og Kurt Rosenwinkel, men med et klart nordisk præg. Den er svævende, rytmisk og følelsesladet, uden at sidde fast i skabeloner.
Debutalbummet udgives på danske April Records, et pladeselskab, der er blevet hjemsted for flere fremtrædende stemmer i den nye europæiske jazz.

As a pianist and composer, the Spanish Xavi Torres who lives and studied in Amsterdam, tells his own story. Together with his trio he creates his typical piano patterns that illustrate his optimism and adventurous approach in music. The young trio has been granted many awards lately: they won the Dutch Jazz Competition (2016), but also the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award (2015 and 2014) en they were named the Best Group of 2015 by The Catalan Jazz Musicians Asociation. We're proud to present them on our roof.

Jesse van Ruller is known to be one of the best contemporary jazz guitarists on the scene today. His unique sound, virtuoso technique and beautiful compositions are praised around the globe.

In 1995 he won the prestigious Thelonious Monk Award in Washington . The jury, consisting of Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Jim Hall, Pat Martino and Mark Whitfield, was of the opinion that Jesse is one of the most promising talents of his time. In the same year he graduated summa cum laude from the Hilversum Conservatory, where he studied with Wim Overgaauw. Since then he has collaborated with many of the worlds leading musicians. He was nominated for the Dutch Bird and Edison Awards several times and to date has released 11 albums as a leader or co-leader.
Jesse leads his own trio in which he continues to display his impressive talents as a jazz guitarist as well as a composer. In this classic guitar-bass-drums setting he unerringly combines all chords and melodies on his semi-acoustic jazz guitar; tradition, expertise and innovation un-insistently go hand in hand.
