The renowned Danish jazz pianist Jacob Christoffersen
releases his new album, A Good Day, on September 6th on
Storyville Records. The album is the result of a successful
collaboration with experienced musicians Thomas Fonnesbæk
on bass and Rasmus Kihlberg on drums.
On A Good Day, Christoffersen, known for his
versatile musicianship and significant contribution to the Danish
music scene, presents eleven original compositions as well as
new interpretations of classics such as Gasolin's Hva' gør vi nu,
lille du and Danny Boy. The album offers a wide range of
moods, from pensive ballads to energetic
funk numbers and soulful Brazilian rhythms, which both
demonstrate the trio's range and improvisational
skills.
Jacob Christoffersen is a prominent figure in Danish jazz,
known for his creative compositions and captivating
performances, including his long-standing collaboration with
the renowned Danish jazz singer Sinne Eeg. With a career spanning more than 25 years, Christoffersen continues to push the boundaries of modern jazz expression.
Thomas Fonnesbæk, one of Denmark's leading jazz bassists, is known for his virtuoso playing and dynamic style, while Rasmus Kihlberg contributes his versatile drumming. Their shared chemistry and musical understanding is evident throughout the album, reflecting their mutual respect and intuitive collaboration.
